UWS is hosting the fifth international Material Science & Smart Materials (MSSM) conference at its Paisley Campus from 7-10 August 2018.
This conference provides a forum for both researchers and practitioners around the world to present papers on recent developments in the fields of Materials Characterisation, Design, Development Manufacturing and Application.
The conference will provide a platform for presenting research papers by internationally recognised experts and young scientists working in the field of Materials Science and Smart Materials.
The event will see over 130 delegates from countries such as the USA, Denmark, Sweden, Cyprus, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, China, Korea, Turkey, Romania, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan and India in attendance.
Keynote presentations will be delivered by Professor Ian Baker, Sherman Fairchild Professor of Engineering and Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Dartmouth University; Professor Nathan Newman, Lawrence Professor Chair of Solid State Sciences at Arizona State University; and Professor Des Gibson, Director of University of the West of Scotland’s Institute of Thin Films, Sensors & Imaging.
Professor Abdul Olab, Director of the UWS Institute of Engineering and Energy Technologies, is the Chair of the Organising Committee for the conference. He said: “We are delighted to be hosting an international conference of this calibre at our Paisley Campus for the first time.
“This annual conference is hugely important and will see leading academics from around the world involved in the field of MSSM in attendance.”
