University of the West of Scotland (UWS) has been named the top young higher education institution in Scotland in the prestigious THE World University Rankings 2023 league table.

The University retains its place with in the 151-200 division of the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings.

The rankings assess universities established less than 50 years ago. The league table is designed to showcase the impact which these institutions are having globally in terms of years rather than centuries.

The 13 performance indicators are the same as the overall THE World University Rankings, with the weightings adjusted to put less emphasis on reputation. The qualifying institutions are assessed in their teaching, research, citations (research influence), international outlook and industry income.
