University of the West of Scotland (UWS) Senior Marketing Co-ordinator Jun Chen and Admissions Manager Kirsty Knox recently visited two of our key Chinese partners as part of a training and information exercise.
During the trip in May, Jun and Kirsty visited the Business College of Beijing Union University and Changchun Institute of Technology, delivering training on the UWS online application system as well as hosting information sessions for students interested in studying at UWS.
UWS currently has 21 partners across China and for the 2012/2013 session we hope to welcome 152 Chinese students to our campuses in Ayr, Dumfries, Hamilton and Paisley. Many come to study UWS as part of the joint programme, where the first part of undergraduate study is completed in China and the final part at UWS.
Jun Chen, who is responsible for student recruitment within the Chinese market, said: “Our dedicated online application system makes it easier to apply to UWS than ever before, particularly for international applicants. The system allows applicants to apply and upload documents instantly as opposed to relying on the postal service which can be time-consuming and unreliable.”
“In addition to the training sessions, over 300 students attended the UWS information presentations and we look forward to welcoming some of them to our already thriving international student community of 1,400 overseas students.”
