Kathryn Wittneben, UWS Vice-Principal and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Advancement) won the Services to Education category at the Scottish Women’s Awards 2018.

The Awards, now in their second year, celebrate female role models acknowledging the achievements of women across a number of industries and sectors.

Since joining UWS in November 2016, Kathryn has been responsible for establishing, leading and delivering the UWS advancement services and opening up opportunities for the University’s estate developments, internationalisation and education innovation.

Kathryn has an extensive background in developing and implementing fundraising strategies and has campaigned for universities and colleges, foundations and not-for-profit organisations. In her former roles she also developed two foundations – the Eurasia Foundation which focuses on the former Soviet Union and The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, US which focuses on work with at-risk youths.

Commenting on her win, Kathryn said: “I am absolutely over the moon to have won the Services to Education award at the Scottish Women’s Awards. A huge well-done must go to everyone involved in the Awards, especially the nominees and winners across all the categories. I was honoured to be in the company of so many inspiring women who are clearly passionate about what they do.”
