In line with new Scottish Government policy, UWS working in partnership with our Student Association, will introduce the free provision of sanitary products for students who need them across all of our five campuses.

Whilst the Scottish Government policy provides for provision of free sanitary products to Scottish university locations, the University has taken the decision to fund the roll out of these products to our London campus to ensure full equity for students no matter which UWS campus they attend.

We already offer a huge and varied range of support services to our students to ensure that their experience at UWS is the best it can be and we are delighted to be able to help reduce any anxiety related to an inability to afford and access these essential items.

There will be free-to-use dispensing units placed in toilets across the campuses, including gender-neutral toilets, together with key locations where students can access emergency, holiday, and reusable supplies should they require them.

We are absolutely committed to ensuring that a lack of access to sanitary products in no way acts as a barrier to a student’s ability to fully participate in University life, and will be rolling out this free provision in support of this from August 2018.
